Description
About the Company
We are part of Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, having transitioned from the West Coast District Health Board in July of last year. Our team is dedicated to making a meaningful impact during a significant period of change in the healthcare sector. We pride ourselves on our unique approach to delivering care, which involves innovation, open communication, and collaborative teamwork.
About the Role
We are currently seeking registered midwives with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) roles on the West Coast, including Buller. We welcome applications from new graduate midwives who are passionate about providing exceptional midwifery care to the women of our community.
If you envision a perfect work-life balance in a rural setting surrounded by the stunning West Coast landscape, this could be the ideal role for you. Your daily responsibilities will include providing antenatal and postnatal care to the residents of the West Coast region. You will have the flexibility to offer home births or assist in birthing at our facilities, Te Nikau Maternity in Greymouth or Te Rua KawaKawa in Westport.
In your free time, you will have the opportunity to explore some of New Zealand's best-kept scenic treasures, with the West Coast being renowned for outdoor activities such as tramping, rafting, and canoeing. While you will be based in the community, you will also have access to ongoing education, training, and support from the team at Te Nikau, along with collegial support from colleagues in central and southern regions providing LMC care. Additionally, we offer a sustainability package to our West Coast LMCs.
