About the Company
Whangarei Hospital, the largest medical facility in the Te Tai Tokerau region, is seeking House Officers to join our dedicated team starting in January 2025. We are part of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora - Northland, an organization committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and ensuring equitable health outcomes for Maori, recognizing them as Tangata Whenua.
About the Role
As a House Officer at Whangarei Hospital, you will have the opportunity to rotate through various departments, including Surgical, Urology, Orthopaedics, Medicine, Assessment Unit, Emergency Department, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, and Relief. We also offer community-based attachments.
Our hospital serves a largely rural area with diverse health needs and interesting pathology, allowing you to work closely with experienced doctors and consultants. This hands-on experience will enable you to develop your skills and make a meaningful impact in the community.

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of one year of post-graduate experience in the New Zealand health sector or a comparable health system
- The ability to work in New Zealand
- Medical Council of New Zealand registration or the ability to apply
