About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist for a part-time leadership position at Te Whatu Ora Northern region. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide medical leadership within the Te Toka Tumai Adult Community Mental Health Services group, specifically for Manawanui Oranga Hinengaro and Lotofale.
The Medical Lead will work collaboratively with the Service Clinical Directors and the Operations Manager to deliver strategic, professional, and clinical leadership. This role requires a commitment to ensuring that the medical care provided to the Tangata Whaiora is of the highest standard. As part of the senior leadership group of Kahui O te ihi, the Medical Lead will also engage in directorate-wide leadership activities.
This position is designed for someone who is innovative, collaborative, and capable of building strong relationships. The role requires a leader who can identify opportunities and implement changes to enhance our service offerings. The part-time commitment is between 0.3 and 0.5 FTE for clinical services, resulting in a total FTE of 0.8 to 1.0 FTE. The successful candidate will report to the Service Clinical Director of Adult Community Mental Health, with strong support from the Medical Director for Kahui o te ihi.

About You
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate or be eligible for the same.
- Possess extensive experience and respect in the field of psychiatry.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills and a commitment to quality, safety, and clinical governance.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative abilities.
- Uphold the values espoused by Te Whatu Ora and Te Toka Tumai.
