About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Class 5 driver to join our team at our Timaru site. In this role, you will work primarily Monday to Friday during the day shift, with occasional night and weekend shifts as needed. Flexibility is essential to accommodate our business and seasonal demands. Duties As a Class 5 driver, your daily tasks will include: - Representing Hilton Haulage in a professional manner, as you are the face of our company. - Adhering to all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures, including completing required health and safety inductions at customer sites. - Collaborating with fellow drivers and participating in team activities, such as Toolbox meetings and pre-start inspections, while ensuring your vehicle is maintained to a high standard. - Driving defensively and responsibly, taking into consideration weight limits, hazardous materials regulations, and current weather and traffic conditions. - Enjoying your work while contributing positively to our team environment. Requirements To be considered for this role, you should have: - A minimum of two years of experience in a Class 5 driving position. - Strong geographical knowledge of the South Island. - A proven track record of going above and beyond for customers; we would love to hear your experiences. - Experience working effectively within a team; please share your favorite team dynamics. - The ability to quickly adapt to new technologies; tell us about a time when you learned something new.
