About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Class 5 Operator to join our skilled and dynamic team in Timaru. In this role, you will be responsible for operating our high-quality fleet within the General Freight Curtainsider division. The position entails working five nights a week, with some weekends as required. While the hours may fluctuate based on business needs, we guarantee a minimum of 80 hours per fortnight, offering you stability in your work schedule. We expect our drivers to maintain a clean and tidy in-cab presentation and demonstrate flexibility to accommodate the demands of our business and seasonal variations. Your commitment to safety, maintenance, and vehicle operation will be essential in upholding the high standards we aim to provide our loyal customers and suppliers. Key Responsibilities - Accurately complete all required documentation in compliance with MPI regulations. - Utilize strong problem-solving skills to address daily operational challenges. - Execute round trips involving multiple independent loading and unloading tasks at various customer locations. Work Pattern This is a full-time, permanent role with a regular nightshift roster, specifically from Monday to Friday, with scheduled weekends as needed. Each shift typically lasts between 8 to 12 hours. What You Bring to the Table - A valid Class 5 Licence (or equivalent) with at least two years of driving experience. - F, DG endorsement and OSH Certificate are preferred but not essential. - A solid geographical understanding of the Canterbury region. - Experience with HPMV and night shifts, demonstrating reliability and flexibility. - An aptitude for learning new technologies, showcasing your adaptability. - A passion for teamwork and customer service; we value your stories and experiences.
