Our team members are integral to our success, and we are currently seeking a reliable and customer-focused Checkout Operator to enhance our dedicated Grocery team.
About the Role
As a Checkout Operator, you will play a vital role in our operations, ensuring that our customers receive outstanding products and service. This position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
The working hours for this position are from Tuesday to Friday, 07:30 to 16:30, and Saturday, 08:00 to 16:00.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing friendly and efficient assistance to customers and team members.
- Managing the opening, operation, and closing of the checkout as needed, ensuring all cash and card transactions are accurate.
- Moving pallets, stocking shelves, and maintaining an organized and safe environment for our customers when required.
- Ensuring stock levels are accurate and that goods are properly rotated.
- Collaborating with the team to keep the workspace clean and orderly.
- Upholding all safety and quality standards at all times.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Prior experience in a similar position, preferably within the food industry or warehouse environment.
- A strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy products.
- Experience with POS and SAP systems is advantageous, though not essential.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A proactive attitude and a readiness to assist others, always keeping customers in mind.
- Honesty, integrity, and reliability are essential, along with a commitment to accountability and continuous improvement.
