About the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in our Motors team, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative products and enhancements for our millions of customers. This position offers you the opportunity to work across the entire technology stack, take ownership of technical outcomes, and drive innovation within a platform that is integral to the lives of New Zealanders.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
- Identify and address challenges within our processes and practices.
- Explore opportunities to integrate new and innovative technologies to solve existing business problems.
- Design, estimate, and plan the work required by your squad.
- Write code and unit tests to meet your squad's objectives.
- Take technical ownership and accountability for projects within your squad.
- Conduct peer reviews of code produced by fellow developers.
- Build, test, release, and monitor the code you deploy to the production environment.
- Document your work to facilitate maintenance and future development.
- Participate in discussions and initiatives aimed at enhancing the Trade Me code base and technical design.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Senior-level experience in full stack development, with strong proficiency in C# (.NET) and front-end technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, and/or Angular.
- A thorough understanding of relational databases and SQL, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server, as well as excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented design patterns and SOLID principles.
- A proven history of taking technical ownership and accountability for significant projects.
- A natural inclination towards mentorship and a genuine desire to help your colleagues grow and succeed.
- An organized and self-directed approach, combined with a proactive mindset to address challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing elegant, testable code that endures over time.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, enabling you to serve as a trusted advisor to your squad and stakeholders.
