About the Role
We are excited to announce part-time positions available in our Surgical High Acuity Area (HAA) at Waikato Hospital. This role presents a unique opportunity to deliver high-level nursing care to critically postoperative patients while contributing to your professional development.
The Surgical HAA is expanding to include an eight-bedded unit that operates 24/7, following a successful pilot program. This area will care for post-operative and procedure patients assessed as high risk, requiring close observation and monitoring. Our aim is to provide a higher level of nursing care and medical interventions during the crucial first 48 hours post-surgery, enabling positive patient outcomes.
Salary for this position will be determined based on experience and will align with the NZNO agreement. Additional benefits include KiwiSaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances, professional development opportunities, and wellness support.
About the Team/Service
The Surgical HAA is situated on level 3 Menzies at the Waikato Hospital main campus within a newly refurbished unit. Designed for patients who are stable but require close monitoring post-recovery, this unit allows for timely medical interventions based on best practices. The team will report to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) of Ward M04, with an Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) coordinating daily bed flow.
