About the Role
We are seeking a Specialty Clinical Nurse to join our Regional Renal Centre in a permanent position, working 36 hours per week. In this role, you will be a vital part of our large Renal Service, responsible for training patients in Home Haemodialysis within the Te Manawa Taki region. Additionally, you will case manage patients undergoing dialysis in the community, ensuring their health needs are effectively met.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the national transformation in healthcare by providing expert nursing care to renal patients, particularly focusing on Home Haemodialysis. As part of one of the largest training units in New Zealand, you will collaborate with a dynamic multidisciplinary team and demonstrate your ability to lead changes that enhance the quality of patient care. We are looking for a hardworking team player who can manage a complex caseload.
About the Service
Our Regional Renal Service offers both acute and chronic renal services across Waikato, Lakes, Bay of Plenty, and Tairawhiti. We cover all aspects of renal care, including hospital-based dialysis, home therapies for both Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis, chronic kidney disease management, and renal transplantation. As the second largest renal service in New Zealand, we are committed to delivering exceptional care.
About You
To be successful in this role, you should be a Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate. You will have attained Expert or Senior Nurse level on the PDRP and possess a minimum of five years of renal nursing experience, preferably in Peritoneal or Haemodialysis. A current full driver's license is required, and experience in adult teaching will be advantageous.
Postgraduate studies are desirable, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual. Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or at least a commitment to starting your learning journey, is essential. You should have experience in upholding the principles of Te Tiriti and applying Matauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings.
