About the Team/Service/Location
Te Whetu Tawera is the Acute Mental Health Unit for Adults at Te Toka Tumai Auckland, featuring 58 beds, including 12 dedicated to the Intensive Care Unit. Nestled alongside the Auckland Domain, our unit offers stunning views of Auckland Harbour and is designed to be adaptable, allowing spaces and rooms to be reconfigured to meet the evolving needs of our patients. The name Te Whetu Tawera translates to 'the evening star,' symbolizing our vision and care for individuals in their time of need.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and capable Registered Nurse to join our senior nursing leadership team as an Inpatient Nurse Consultant. This role will primarily be based at Te Whetu Tawera, overseeing our five inpatient units.
As a Nurse Consultant, you will be responsible for promoting, developing, and implementing evidence-based nursing practices aimed at enhancing clinical effectiveness. You will lead the nursing implementation of quality strategy improvement programs and initiatives across our Directorate, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements
We are looking for a Registered Comprehensive Nurse (with a Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health) or a Psychiatric Nurse with prior experience in nursing leadership roles within mental health services. You should possess a deep understanding of the continuum of care and demonstrate a strong commitment to the core values and principles of modern mental health service delivery. A proven ability to apply these in a clinical context is essential.

This is a fixed-term, part-time role requiring 20 hours of work per week from Monday to Friday.
