About the Role
We are excited to offer a pivotal opportunity within our Cardiothoracic and Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). In this role, you will be responsible for promoting high standards of care, driving quality improvement, and providing clinical leadership throughout the patient journey. You will offer expert professional advice, champion evidence-informed practices, and spearhead strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and nursing performance.
This position is ideal for a senior nurse who is passionate about influencing change and shaping the future of care in one of our leading units. A strong focus on continuous improvement, cultural safety, and equity is essential.
About the Team/Service/Location
This role is primarily based at Auckland City Hospital, where you will be part of a multidisciplinary professional team committed to delivering quality care to Auckland's cardiovascular patients. Auckland, known as New Zealand’s largest city, is set in a stunning marine environment with a temperate climate and a population of approximately 1.5 million. The city boasts a vibrant blend of lifestyles and cultures, offering easy access to breathtaking scenery and a wide range of outdoor activities.
About You
To excel in this role, we are looking for candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Current New Zealand nursing registration and Annual Practising Certificate
- Recognized nursing qualification (RGN, RGON, RPN, RCpN, BN, or BHSc)
- A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in a specialty area
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience in quality improvement initiatives
- A commitment to bicultural practice and achieving equity for Māori
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the healthcare context
