About the Role
We are currently seeking a Clinical Charge Nurse for a fixed-term, part-time position in our Oncology Inpatient ward, Ward 64, located at Auckland City Hospital. This role involves working rostered shifts alongside a team of dedicated healthcare professionals.
Our Oncology Service encompasses a 27-bed inpatient unit, an Oncology Day Stay Unit, and outpatient clinics. As a Clinical Charge Nurse, you will provide clinical expertise and leadership within the inpatient Oncology ward. We are looking for highly motivated, progressive, and innovative nurses who can enhance nursing care delivery and foster collaboration within our clinical teams. The team includes Oncologists, Fellows, Registrars, House Officers, Charge Nurses, Nurse Specialists, a Nurse Educator, Allied Health professionals, and Registered Nurses, all focused on improving patient care quality and providing positive experiences for patients and their whanau.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- A commitment to biculturalism and achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- New Zealand nursing registration (RGON, RN BHSc in Nursing)
- A postgraduate certificate or diploma in specialty nursing practice
- Progress toward completion of a master's degree
- A minimum of five years' experience post-registration in a relevant nursing specialty
- A sound understanding of professional ethics
- Preferably Chemotherapy Certification
