About the Role
We are currently seeking applications for a permanent part-time Health Care Assistant position at Tauranga Hospital, specifically in Surgical Ward 3B. This role is for 0.7 FTE, equivalent to 28 hours per week, and includes fixed, rostered shifts. You will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic surgical environment.
In Surgical Ward 3B, we provide specialized care for patients undergoing Vascular and ENT surgery, along with exposure to general surgical, medical, and orthopedic patients. As a Health Care Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support Registered Nurses in delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate care across various clinical needs and age groups. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured and clinically focused setting and enjoys assisting in recovery following complex surgical procedures.

Located in the vibrant Bay of Plenty, Tauranga Hospital is a busy provincial facility characterized by a strong sense of teamwork and community. Our Surgical Ward 3B team is positive, proactive, and dedicated to providing high-quality care and achieving excellent patient outcomes.

What You Will Bring
- NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Health Assistance) or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare or surgical ward setting (preferred)
- A willingness to learn and engage in ongoing training
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow direction with confidence
- A professional and respectful approach to patient care
