About the Company
At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we are dedicated to creating a healthcare system that serves all New Zealanders. Our commitment is firmly rooted in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We strive to foster an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.
About the Role
We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our team in Whakatane Kahui Ako as a School-Based Mental Health Support Worker. Our initiative, Tihore Mai I Uta Tihore Mai I Tai, is a school-based mental health service aimed at providing accessible and effective mental health support for Tamariki and their whanau in Years 1-8 in schools across the Bay of Plenty.
In this role, you will work alongside registered mental health professionals to deliver individual, whanau, and group-based interventions within schools. You will play an essential role in bridging the gap between schools, whanau, and the wider community. This position is particularly well-suited for individuals currently studying or working in education, social services, or health support roles.
Our team collaborates with Education's Learning Support Delivery model to ensure that the unique needs of Tamariki are met through a comprehensive and coordinated approach. We actively partner with iwi and hapu-based providers, community organizations, and government agencies, making a meaningful impact in our communities.
If you are passionate about advancing mental health support in schools and want to be part of a dedicated and innovative team, we encourage you to apply. This is a permanent, full-time position, and we are also open to applications for part-time hours. If you are interested in part-time work, please specify your preferred hours in your cover letter.
