About the Role
We are currently offering a permanent part-time opportunity (0.8 FTE) within our Acute Allied Health team at Middlemore Hospital. This role involves providing occupational therapy services in both general and specialist medical areas, with the potential to develop expertise across various acute care settings, including orthopaedics and surgical departments.
In this position, you will receive professional support from a Section Head and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to implement evidence-based interventions. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, delivering treatment, and facilitating discharge planning within the acute hospital environment. Requirements
The ideal candidates will demonstrate the following competencies:
- Proficiency in applying occupational therapy skills to various practice areas
- Strong caseload management abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivation and a team-oriented mindset
- Effective time management skills
Essential qualifications include:
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist in New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- A minimum of two years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist
- A valid driver's license
