About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Auckland City Hospital, specifically covering the Taiao ora Ward 51, which focuses on Acute Neurology, Stroke, and Rehabilitation. This is a full-time position, requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week.
In this role, you will apply your clinical expertise and knowledge in Occupational Therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices related to stroke and neurological conditions. You will manage a clinical caseload within the Taiao ora Ward, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality, effective services. On-the-job training and continuous professional development opportunities, including a well-established in-service training program, will be provided.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our Occupational Therapy team at Auckland Hospital is supportive and dedicated. You will benefit from a comprehensive onboarding and orientation process tailored to our acute hospital ward areas. Support will be provided by our Occupational Therapy Clinical Educator, Practice Supervisor, and experienced senior clinicians.
About You
We are looking for a registered Occupational Therapist in New Zealand with a minimum of six years of post-qualification experience in a hospital setting. Your qualifications should include:
- Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of NZ and a current annual practicing certificate
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to apply evidence-informed practices
- Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
- A proactive, flexible approach with strong communication and interpersonal abilities
You will be joining an exceptional team of Allied Health professionals, allowing you to further develop your skills in occupation-centered assessment and complex discharge planning.
