About the Role We are seeking a New Zealand Registered Occupational Therapist who has a passion for paediatrics to join our dedicated Starship community team. This is a permanent, full-time position based at the Greenlane Clinical Centre, although the majority of your work will occur within the community. As part of the Starship Child Health directorate, you will collaborate with nursing, allied health, and technical staff to provide healthcare services to children, young people, and their families within their homes, schools, and community settings. Your responsibilities will include: - Delivering assessments and therapy for children and young people with developmental and disability needs as part of our child development service. - Conducting visits to children in various settings, including homes and early childhood centres. - Engaging with our communities to address healthcare inequities and barriers, prioritizing support for underserved populations. - Collaborating with your allied health colleagues in an interdisciplinary model to provide high-quality and effective services. - Participating in continuous professional development, including a well-established in-service training program. - Being available for weekend and on-call duties as required. About the Team/Service/Location The Starship Community Occupational Therapy team consists of compassionate and enthusiastic clinicians dedicated to improving health outcomes for children in the community. The team currently includes 7.2 full-time equivalent staff members who provide care in both outpatient and community-based environments. About You The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes: - Registration as an Occupational Therapist in New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate. - A minimum of two years of post-graduate clinical experience. - A strong passion for enhancing outcomes for children. - A clean, full New Zealand driver's license. - Excellent clinical reasoning skills and a commitment to evidence-informed practice. - The ability to collaborate effectively with diverse professional groups in a multidisciplinary and bicultural setting. - Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
