Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to provide casual support across mechanical and electrical systems. This opportunity is ideal for semi-retired or senior tradespeople who want to remain active in their field while enjoying the flexibility of part-time or project-based work.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and repairing faults across a variety of production machinery. You will support a proactive maintenance model with a focus of 70% proactive and 30% reactive maintenance. Your responsibilities will include managing issues from fault identification through to resolution and optimization, assisting with equipment commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you may perform light fabrication or wiring tasks as needed and will be expected to maintain accurate records in the Preventative Maintenance (PM) system.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should be trade certified in mechanical or electrical systems, with dual trade certification being a bonus. A minimum of five years’ experience in FMCG, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is required, along with strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. You should be comfortable working across multiple production lines and PLC systems, and have knowledge of GMP, health and safety, and quality standards. Flexibility to work day or night shifts as required is also essential.
Bonus Skills
While not mandatory, experience with BWM Main Track or SAP maintenance systems would be advantageous. Knowledge of PLC systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Omron, along with exposure to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) or continuous improvement initiatives, and fabrication or machining experience would also be beneficial.
