About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and highly organized Technician to join our busy workshop in Seaview, Wellington. The ideal candidate will have a genuine enthusiasm for the role and a solid mechanical background. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy commercial vehicles. You will need to adhere to strict timelines while ensuring that you deliver work of the highest standard. Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- A strong foundation in heavy automotive, supported by a technical qualification or at least three years of relevant experience
- A meticulous approach with a commitment to quality
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- A clean driver's license with a minimum of classes 1-2L; we will support you in progressing to a Class 5 license if required
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing your skills to quickly and accurately diagnose vehicle issues
- Collaborating with the service department as needed
- Seeking approval for repairs from customers or the service department
- Using the appropriate tools to install parts, equipment, wiring, or programs according to specifications
- Performing routine maintenance on vehicles and determining necessary work
- Carrying out services and repairs in alignment with the Flat Rate Manual or guidelines set by the Service Manager
- Keeping all records up to date and accurate
- Continuously updating your knowledge of vehicles to effectively perform servicing, repairs, adjustments, and testing
- Adhering to our health and safety procedures and more
