About the Role We are seeking an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our Residential Houses located in Hamilton. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team focused on empowering individuals to live as independently as possible. Your leadership will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment where our clients can develop confidence, forge friendships, and engage with the community. Please note that this position is currently a one-year fixed-term contract. The role involves a mixture of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts throughout the week, so flexibility in your schedule is essential. What Does the Role Involve? As a Team Leader, you will assist individuals with disabilities in achieving independence while guiding and motivating your team. Your daily responsibilities may include: - Facilitating meaningful activities at home and in the community that promote independence and involve Whanau. - Managing household duties, including meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal care tasks. - Collaborating with your team to consistently implement personal support plans, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. - Providing a warm and nurturing living environment that welcomes ideas and feedback, enabling each person to work towards their personal goals. What Are We Looking For? We seek candidates who possess: - Relevant caregiving experience, including personal care skills. - Ideally, some leadership experience or a strong desire to develop leadership skills. - The ability to adapt your leadership style to accommodate individual learning preferences. - A warm, calm, and friendly demeanor, coupled with a passion for helping individuals achieve positive outcomes. - A full New Zealand driver’s license and the ability to transport passengers safely in our disability vans. Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are vital in this role, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
