About the Role We are seeking an energetic and motivated Team Leader for our Residential Houses located in Hamilton. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team focused on empowering individuals to live as independently as possible. Your leadership will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment where our clients can develop confidence, forge friendships, and engage with the community. Please note that this position is currently a one-year fixed-term contract. The role involves a mixture of morning, afternoon, and evening shifts throughout the week, so flexibility in your schedule is essential. What Does the Role Involve? As a Team Leader, you will assist individuals with disabilities in achieving independence while guiding and motivating your team. Your daily responsibilities may include: - Facilitating meaningful activities at home and in the community that promote independence and involve Whanau. - Managing household duties, including meal preparation, daily care routines, and personal care tasks. - Collaborating with your team to consistently implement personal support plans, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. - Providing a warm and nurturing living environment that welcomes ideas and feedback, enabling each person to work towards their personal goals. We seek candidates who possess: - Relevant caregiving experience, including personal care skills. - Ideally, some leadership experience or a strong desire to develop leadership skills. - The ability to adapt your leadership style to accommodate individual learning preferences. - A warm, calm, and friendly demeanor, coupled with a passion for helping individuals achieve positive outcomes. - A full New Zealand driver’s license and the ability to transport passengers safely in our disability vans.
