About the Company
At Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga Archives New Zealand, we are dedicated to ensuring effective and trusted government record-keeping for the benefit of all New Zealanders. We preserve and protect over seven million official records, ranging from 19th-century treaties to 21st-century documents and data. Our primary goal is to enable all New Zealanders to easily access and utilize this valuable heritage, connecting them to their rights, entitlements, and stories now and for the future.
About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time fixed-term team member to support the relocation of archival holdings and taonga at our Wellington office. This position is part of our broader initiative, Te Ara Tahi, which represents a transformative partnership between Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga Archives New Zealand, Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa National Library of New Zealand, and Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision. Through this collaboration, we aim to work more closely together, sharing expertise and resources to better meet the evolving needs and expectations of New Zealanders.
The Wellington office houses 80 kilometers of archival holdings, a significant portion of which will be relocated to a new archival building over an 18-month period. This role is fixed-term until December 2026.
Requirements

- Excellent relationship management abilities
- Experience in supporting, developing, and managing detailed schedules
