About the Role
We are looking for full-time Structural Steel Fabricators to work on various infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. In this role, you will be responsible for the placement, securing, and tying of structural steel components according to engineering plans. Your work will be crucial in ensuring structural integrity and adherence to safety standards. These are permanent, full-time positions with guaranteed minimum hours, and your site location will depend on project demand.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering plans and drawings to accurately place and secure structural steel components.
- Tie reinforcement steel using appropriate techniques for various reinforcement systems.
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure the timely and safe installation of steelwork.
- Comply with all health, safety, and quality standards on-site.
- Work efficiently within large construction teams under strict deadlines.
Skills and Experience Required
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in structural steel placement and reinforcement tying, whether locally or overseas.
- Ability to read and work from technical and engineering drawings.
- Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and quality control measures in steel construction.
- Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects is preferred.
- Relevant trade certifications or qualifications will be advantageous.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While the role is listed in Tasman, we are recruiting for positions available across all regions of New Zealand based on project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
