About the Role
As a Traffic Controller with us, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of traffic flow in various environments, including construction sites and work zones. We offer long-term opportunities, with an average of 45 hours of work per week. This is an excellent chance to gain valuable experience and establish connections with both local and national companies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Directing and managing traffic flow in and around construction sites and areas requiring traffic management
- Installing and maintaining traffic control devices, such as cones, barriers, and signs
- Monitoring traffic patterns and adjusting management plans as necessary
- Responding swiftly to emergencies to ensure the safety of all involved parties
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following minimum requirements:
- A current, valid TTM-P, TMO, or STMS CAT A/B certification
- A full class 2 license is beneficial but not mandatory
- Familiarity with Christchurch and local roadways is preferred
- Strong communication skills to promote teamwork
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and nights
- A reliable and positive attitude
