About the Role
The Clinical Records Team Leader position offers a dynamic and demanding work environment that balances operational efficiency with effective people leadership. This role involves constant coordination to ensure the clinical records service runs smoothly and efficiently. You will manage competing priorities, such as tight deadlines, fluctuating workloads, and resource limitations.

As a team leader, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high service standards while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
The salary for this position ranges from MECA Band 7 Step 1 to 7, which is $81,226 to $95,383.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Clinical Records Service is based at Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown. This service is responsible for ensuring that patient records for Capital and Coast are managed accurately, securely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. You will be supported by a dedicated team of 31 clinical records administrators, 2 coordinators, and 4 Patient Information Officers. The primary aim of the service is to provide healthcare providers with timely and accurate information to support every decision they make.
About You
We are looking for a resilient and adaptable individual with a clear vision who can manage diverse personalities. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A qualification in Health Information Management or a related field
- Previous experience in health records management
- At least 3 years of leadership experience, preferably with large teams
- Familiarity with the Privacy Act, Public Records Act, and other legislation governing patient information
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating honesty, integrity, and a commitment to ethical decision-making
