About the Role We are seeking a Senior Leader within our Technology team who will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing Trade Me's AI and Data strategy. In this position, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation, utilizing data and AI to enhance our platform, improve decision-making, and deliver exceptional value to our customers. You will lead the development of our data platforms, facilitate self-service capabilities, define our AI platform strategy, and promote AI adoption throughout Trade Me. Success in this role will be characterized by: - Successful integration and utilization of AI across various business processes and product offerings, resulting in strategic impact. - A clear and effective AI platform strategy that is well understood across the organization, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI. - Well-managed data platforms that meet the needs of the business, alongside the completion of our Data Platform migration, which will transform how the organization accesses and leverages data. - Effective collaboration and influence with peers to ensure the right capabilities are delivered to support Trade Me's strategic objectives and product roadmaps. - A commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment while championing our corporate values. What You Will Bring to Our Team - Over 10 years of experience in Data and AI-related roles. - A minimum of 5 years in AI-specific positions. - More than 10 years of leadership experience. - A deep understanding of AI and machine learning, with the capability to drive AI adoption across the organization. - Knowledge of Data Platforms, including data pipelines, data mesh, and data warehouses. - Experience in driving transformations in working methodologies. - A background in online properties such as e-commerce and classifieds portals. - Familiarity with agile organizations that operate with speed. - Proven ability to articulate and communicate a vision and strategy. - Senior leadership experience in shaping team culture, coaching, and guiding teams to deliver outstanding results. - Experience in engaging with diverse stakeholders. - Strong leadership skills, with a track record of influencing large teams and motivating individuals, as well as developing and nurturing talent. - Strategic and creative thinking abilities, with a keen understanding of broader business imperatives. - A demonstrated capacity to effect meaningful change within an organization. - A natural curiosity and willingness to explore new ideas. - An energetic and optimistic disposition. - A solution-focused mindset, balancing theoretical knowledge with practical application. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to build respect and trust across various levels of seniority and skill sets.
