About the Role We are looking for skilled Steel Fixers to join our team for immediate and ongoing positions within major infrastructure and commercial projects throughout New Zealand. These are full-time, permanent roles, and site locations will be determined based on project demands. This opportunity is perfect for individuals with a solid background in structural reinforcement who are open to relocating or traveling as required. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering plans and drawings to cut, bend, and place steel bars and mesh. You will tie rebar using the correct techniques for various reinforcement systems and secure steel within formwork prior to concrete pouring. Adhering to health, safety, and quality standards on-site will be essential, as will the ability to work efficiently within large teams under strict deadlines. Requirements To be considered for this position, you should have a minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, whether in New Zealand or overseas. You must be capable of reading and working from technical drawings and possess strong physical fitness along with a keen attention to detail. Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred, and relevant trade experience or qualifications will be advantageous. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is listed for Auckland, we have positions available throughout all regions of New Zealand, depending on project needs. The regions include: North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington. South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland. We invite applicants from any of these areas who are willing to travel or relocate as necessary. Please note that relocation costs will be covered by the company. Benefits We offer competitive pay rates ranging from $26.00 to $40.00 per hour with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week. You will benefit from full-time, permanent roles, and we provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools. Additionally, this position offers the opportunity to work on significant infrastructure and commercial projects.
