About the Role
We are currently seeking full-time Structural Steel Fabricators to join our team for deployment on various infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. In this role, you will be responsible for the placement, securing, and tying of structural steel components according to engineering plans, ensuring both structural integrity and compliance with safety standards. These positions are full-time and permanent, with site locations determined by project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering plans and drawings to accurately position and secure structural steel components.
- Tie reinforcement steel using appropriate techniques for different reinforcement systems.
- Collaborate effectively with site teams to ensure the timely and safe installation of steelwork.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards on-site.
- Work efficiently as part of large construction teams under tight deadlines.
Skills and Experience Required
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in structural steel placement and reinforcement tying, whether locally or overseas.
- Proficiency in reading and working from technical and engineering drawings.
- Strong physical fitness and manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and quality control measures in steel construction.
- Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure construction projects is preferred.
- Relevant trade experience or qualifications will be considered advantageous.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is based in Gisborne, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
