About the Role
We are currently looking for dedicated and experienced individuals to join our team at Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL) on fixed-term contracts as we prepare for the increased demand for healthcare services during the winter months. This part-time position involves working 20 hours per week until September 30, 2025.
Canterbury Health Laboratories operates as a busy diagnostic facility, serving both in-patients and outpatients in Christchurch. As the largest medical laboratory in the South Island and a major secondary/tertiary referral center, we handle a varied and challenging case load. Our modern lab is well-equipped with a wide range of specialist equipment, providing a dynamic work environment.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality service to our clients.
- Registering samples into the Delphic Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing necessary pre-analytical processing.
- Interpreting and inputting request forms.
- Ensuring data accuracy and information integrity.
- Responding to telephone inquiries in our lab call center.
About You
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- A proven ability to contribute to and enhance both personal and team performance.
- Experience in data entry and a competent level of computer skills.
- Familiarity with laboratory processes and prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
