About the Role
We recognize that our teams are our most valuable asset, and we are dedicated to hiring and training exceptional individuals. We are currently seeking energetic and motivated Support Workers to join our residential services in Christchurch. These roles are available in both permanent and casual capacities.
As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing assistance to rangatahi (youth) and tamariki (children) as they engage with our Intensive Support Services. Your focus will be on helping them live as independently as possible within the community.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with your team to ensure a consistent approach to support
- Assist tamariki and rangatahi in attending school or accessing educational opportunities
- Observe and respond to health concerns while promoting overall health and well-being
- Support young individuals in setting and achieving their personal goals, leading to improved outcomes
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- A genuine desire to assist rangatahi and tamariki in learning new skills and achieving their goals
- Previous experience working with young people
- An understanding of intellectual disabilities and autism
- Creative thinking and a collaborative spirit
- A full New Zealand driver’s license
- Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness, as the individuals we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs
