About the Role We are hiring Construction Technicians for deployment on various infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. These positions are full-time and permanent, with site locations determined by project demand. We offer a competitive salary ranging from a minimum of $26.00 per hour to a maximum of $40.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. We also provide necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools. Key Responsibilities As a Construction Technician, your tasks will include the following: - Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level. - Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete. - Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors. - Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches using appropriate tools. - Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms. - Performing general labor tasks such as cleaning construction sites as required by managers. - Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools, and equipment. - Collaborating with other trades and performing other duties as assigned. Requirements To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following: - Some experience in the construction industry is preferred, but not essential. - A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic. - A commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry. - A solid understanding of health and safety procedures. - Reliability and a hardworking attitude. - Skills in fabricating and installing custom joinery and cabinetry. - Experience in general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves. - The ability to measure and cut materials with precision. - The capability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. - A willingness to collaborate with other trades as needed. - The ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
