About the Role
We are currently seeking an HR Business Partner to join our team at Timaru Hospital. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, created to provide cover for a team member on parental leave. In this role, you will support the People Partnering Lead by delivering end-to-end operational HR advice and services. This includes the implementation of HR strategies, policies, and processes.
As an HR Business Partner, you will work closely with managers and employees within your assigned service to assess operational needs and HR requirements. Your goal will be to support these services in achieving their objectives, particularly in areas related to culture and performance development.
Our dedicated HR team supports approximately 1,000 staff members across the South Canterbury district. We pride ourselves on being service-oriented, well-connected to the business, and providing a friendly yet professional HR support service.
About You
We encourage candidates with a solid background in HR generalist roles, ideally at the business partner or senior advisor level, to apply.

- Experience in navigating complex environments and relationships, preferably in a highly unionized setting.
- The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with confidence in decision-making.
