About the Role We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary community team, primarily serving the Helensville region of the Rodney District, with some responsibilities in the Red Beach office. This position offers both full-time and part-time opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated professionals who are committed to enhancing mental health care. Our Mental Health Services for Adults cater to one of the largest catchments in Aotearoa, New Zealand, working closely with a diverse population that includes Maori, Pacific, and Asian communities in both urban and rural settings, such as the North Shore, Rodney District, and West Auckland. In this role, you will provide community and inpatient services for individuals experiencing serious mental health issues. Your responsibilities will include assessing, treating, and supporting people with severe mental disorders, as well as those with pre-existing severe mental health conditions. You will also have the opportunity to teach and supervise psychiatry trainees, house officers, and medical students, as we are an accredited training service with rotating pre-examination and advanced trainees in psychiatry. A key aspect of this role is providing clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team. We operate under a clinical governance model that encourages active clinician involvement in service development, planning, and quality improvement initiatives. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate or be eligible to apply for one. A full and clean driving license is required. We are looking for candidates who are committed to improving services and achieving positive outcomes, particularly for Maori communities.
