    About the Company Royal District Nursing Service New Zealand (RDNS NZ) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing home and community-based services throughout New Zealand. Our mission is to ensure that Tamariki and Rangatahi feel safe and happy in our care, while achieving measurable improvements in their developmental and wellbeing goals. About the Role We are currently seeking a Behavioural Specialist (Psychologist) to join our team in the South Auckland area. This position is perfect for an independent contractor or a recent graduate with some relevant experience. The role is part-time, requiring 16 hours per week (0.4 FTE), and may be offered as a permanent, contract, or fixed-term opportunity. In this autonomous position, you will engage directly with clients and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings both within RDNS and with external partners. Your primary responsibilities will include assessing and developing Behavioural Support Plans for children with disabilities, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, and Intellectual Disability. Additionally, you will provide training for our support staff. Key Responsibilities - Conduct functional assessments and develop tailored behaviour support plans. - Provide timely recommendations for interventions. - Utilize evidence-based, strength-based, and culturally considerate approaches in your practice. - Train and educate support staff to enhance their effectiveness. - Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to promote independence among Tamariki and Rangatahi, advising on goal setting, restraint, and other relevant practices. Requirements - Must be registered with the Board of Psychologists under the general scope of practice. - A minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field is preferred, although not essential. - A strong commitment to Ngā tikanga me te reo Māori is essential.
