About the Role We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Plumbers and Plumber Apprentices for an assignment at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. This is a remarkable opportunity to work in one of the most remote and challenging environments on Earth, where you can embark on an adventure of a lifetime. Qualified Plumber Rate: - $50 per hour (Wages) - $60 per hour (Contracting) Apprentice Plumber Rate: - $35 per hour (Wages) - $45 per hour (Contracting) Location: McMurdo Station, Antarctica (approximately 1,000 residents during the summer season) We have two intakes available; you can choose one or opt to stay for both: - Intake 1: October 2025 - February 2026 - Intake 2: February 2026 - October 2026 Requirements To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience: - Unrestricted New Zealand Work Rights (Please note that no sponsorship or visa variations will be provided) - Proven experience as a plumber, along with references to support your application - New Zealand Certificate in Plumbing (Level 4) or an equivalent qualification from overseas What to Expect When You're Down There While working at McMurdo Station, you can look forward to: - Accommodation provided (shared room) - Free meals - Complimentary flights from any major New Zealand airport - Work schedule: Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM What to Expect Before You Start Before your assignment begins, you will need to undergo the following checks: - Medical and dental assessments - Criminal background and security checks - Required vaccinations What to Do Now If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply through the provided link.
