About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational and motivated leader to join our team as a full-time Team Coach (TC) in the wider Manukau area of Auckland. This role will support two services: our established acute community day program, Te Whare Toi Aroha, and our mobile Health and Wellbeing team.
As the Team Coach, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our service. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the care of tāngata whai ora at Te Whare Toi Aroha to ensure they receive exceptional support within the community.
- Ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources while fostering innovation and improvement in service delivery.
- Leading and supporting staff through regular coaching, recruitment, professional development, and performance management.
- Helping the team reach their personal best in all aspects of their work.
- Reporting to the Service and Relationship Manager and receiving the same coaching and support to achieve great outcomes together.
- Developing and expanding our services to meet emerging community needs.
- Building strong and collaborative inter-sector networks and partnerships.
This is a permanent, full-time position with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. You will be based across two localities in Papatoetoe and Manukau and will also contribute to an on-call roster.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the well-being of tāngata whai ora and whānau facing mental health challenges. While we prefer an Occupational Therapist, we welcome applicants who meet the following criteria:
- HPCA regulated health practitioner with a current APC (Registered Nurse, Social Worker, DAPANZ, or similar).
- Relevant work experience, including at least one year in mental health.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to support, manage, and inspire a team.
- Experience in collaborating with services such as Health New Zealand/Te Whatu Ora, PHOs, and the wider community and social sector.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant experience in leadership and managing others.
- A qualification in leadership, management, or a clinical field.
- A strong commitment to role modeling well-being and leadership, while supporting our kaimahi to do the same.
- A full, clean driver's license.
