About the Role
We are seeking candidates for a role in our Psychiatry department, which includes opportunities for progression to a registrar position. In this position, you will assess the mental and physical states of patients, provide preliminary diagnoses and treatments, and contribute to the development of comprehensive mental health services across our facilities. You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists and be part of a team of nine Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) who share after-hours duties.
Start Date: 19 January 2026

Requirements
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligibility for general or provisional general registration. You can check your eligibility by visiting the Medical Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz.
- A keen interest in psychiatry.
- Empathy and sensitivity to support patients and their families.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
