Health New Zealand - Counties Manukau Radiology is a leading healthcare provider located in South Auckland, encompassing Middlemore Hospital, Kidz First Children's Hospital, and Manukau Health Park. Middlemore Hospital serves as a major trauma facility, specializing in spinal and plastics surgery, and houses the National Burns Centre. About the Role
We are currently seeking a New Graduate Medical Imaging Technologist to join our dynamic team. This full-time position involves working 80 hours per fortnight in a shift-based environment. The successful candidate will need to hold an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) in the Medical Imaging Technologist (MIT) scope issued by the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board.
In this role, you will be responsible for imaging patients in outpatient, emergency, ward, and critical care settings. You will receive comprehensive orientation, which includes training on protocols and equipment. Your ability to interpret referrals and apply clinical decision-making skills will be essential in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging.
About the Team/Service/Location
Our Radiology department is equipped with state-of-the-art medical imaging technology, including 13 general x-ray rooms, two dedicated angiography suites, a specialist radiology theatre with advanced imaging capabilities, five CT scanners, and three MRI scanners, with a fourth set to open in 2026. You will have opportunities to train in various specialized modalities, including Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, CT, Theatre, and MRI, with support from modality leads and the MIT Team Leader.
The role involves work across Middlemore Hospital and Kidz First Children's Hospital, located in Otahuhu. Our outpatient clinics and day surgery center are situated approximately 9 kilometers from the hospital campus.
