About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthoptist to join our Ophthalmology team at Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau, located in Auckland. In this full-time, permanent role, you will deliver high-quality orthoptic assessments and management for both adult and pediatric patients in our diverse community.
Your responsibilities will include providing expert orthoptic assessments and tailored care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that includes Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Nurses, and Technicians, and leading orthoptist-led clinics independently. You will also support clinical education and continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the delivery of regional services across Counties Manukau and other Northern region sites.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A recognized Orthoptics qualification (IOA or associate member country).
- Registration with the New Zealand Orthoptics Society (NZOSI) is required upon commencement of employment.
- A minimum of two years of post-registration experience.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills.
- A commitment to cultural safety, patient rights, and service excellence.
