We are currently seeking a Tutor Specialist to join our vibrant and diverse team for a 12-month fixed-term full-time position, with dates from February 2, 2026, to January 31, 2027.
About the Role
In this role, you will be an integral part of our senior medical team, providing specialist paediatric medical assessments and ongoing management for children and young people in various settings, including Acute, Inpatient, and Ambulatory care.
Your key responsibilities will include supervising and teaching our team of 28 resident medical officers in training, coordinating rosters, and offering guidance and support. This unique position will equip you with the skills and experience necessary for a consultant paediatrician role. We offer excellent support and mentoring throughout your tenure with us.
This full-time, fixed-term role also requires participation in the general paediatrics consultant after-hours roster, which includes weekend ward rounds (1:6) and some overnight on-call duties, with comprehensive backup provided.

At Kidz First, our mission is to deliver 'Healthy Futures Together.' We prioritize Whaanau-centred Care, focusing on optimizing health outcomes for Pepe, Tamariki, and Rangatahi in our community. Our multi-disciplinary team collaborates across both community and inpatient settings and consists of medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. Kidz First is one of the largest General Paediatric departments in New Zealand, serving a culturally diverse population with significant health needs.

About You
We are looking for candidates who are senior trainees anticipating Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians within 6-9 months or new RACP Fellows. You will need to be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.
We seek a team player who can navigate various services while respecting different disciplines. Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and a commitment to addressing health inequities are essential. Experience working with Māori, Pacific, and culturally diverse populations is preferred.
