We are currently seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced Telehandler and Skid-Steer Operators for a unique opportunity at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the Summer of 2025/26.
About the Role
This role involves working in one of the most remote and breathtaking locations in the world. Deployments are expected to take place from approximately October 2025 to March 2026. As a Telehandler/Skid-Steer Operator, you will be part of a large commercial construction project. Your responsibilities will include delivering parts and materials, assisting the Logistics Supervisor with daily operations at the Stores/Logistics, and operating various plant machinery such as Bobcats and Utes.
We are looking for dedicated team players who are prepared to work hard, pitch in, and support one another. It is important to have a Class 2 Driver License with WTR Endorsements.
Requirements

These roles are not ‘fly in fly out’ positions; you will be on-site for an extended period and will work long hours, typically six days a week. Start dates are approximate and will depend on passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, your notice period, and ice flight availability.
Additionally, candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and have a clean criminal record. The application process can be extensive, so patience is essential. Applicants must also be prepared to travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams, with expenses covered for testing and flights from outside the Bay of Plenty.

We offer several benefits for this position, including:
- Flight arrangements from any major New Zealand airport
- Food and shared accommodation

- A competitive hourly rate of $66.11, with payment on a contract basis, paid fortnightly in NZD for 54 hours of work per week
