About the Role
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Ward Clerk within the Labour and Birthing Suite at Auckland City Hospital. This role offers a chance to significantly contribute to the health and wellbeing of our community while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
As a Ward Clerk, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of the Labour and Birthing Suite. This fully rostered position requires availability 24/7, including weekends. Your responsibilities will involve a high level of customer interaction, maintaining patient files, arranging and monitoring patient movements, facilitating communication and coordination, and assisting with various ward management functions.
In this role, you will be:
- Engaging with patients and staff to ensure effective communication and support
- Maintaining accurate and organized patient files
- Coordinating patient movements and follow-up appointments
- Assisting with ward management functions, including ordering supplies and conducting stocktaking
Requirements
To be successful in this position, we are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 2 years of administrative or clerical experience
- Previous experience in the healthcare industry is preferred
- Familiarity with hospital systems would be advantageous
- Flexibility to work shifts throughout the week
- A positive attitude and strong communication skills for effective interaction with staff and patients
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
