About the Role
We are currently offering permanent part-time positions, with full-time options also considered. We invite you to indicate your preferred hours in your cover letter. Our Sterile Services Unit, which is part of the Operating Suite, provides a varied and dynamic work environment.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday, with 8-hour shifts scheduled between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM. There are no weekend or public holiday obligations, and parking is readily available.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing direct technical processing of reusable medical devices (RMDs)
- Ensuring effective decontamination through proper washing processes
- Selecting and using the appropriate sterilization methods (Steam, Sterrad, etc.)
- Inspecting and testing RMDs as required
- Completing all necessary documentation related to these processes
About You
We are looking for an experienced Sterile Services Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the capability to perform well under pressure, a strong attention to detail, and effective communication skills. Physical fitness is important, as the role involves some lifting.
Candidates must have completed the NZSSA Sterilising Technology Certification. Additionally, competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori is desirable, or a commitment to starting this learning journey and taking ownership of your personal and professional growth.
