About the Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a specialist Cardiologist with expertise in cardiac imaging to join our established and progressive team at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand. This full-time position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with salary details aligned with the ASMS SECA.
About Our Service
Waikato Hospital serves as a tertiary referral and teaching cardiac center, providing a comprehensive range of adult cardiac services to the Midland Region, which is home to approximately 900,000 people. Our department consists of a dynamic team of fifteen Cardiologists and five Cardiac surgeons. We are recognized as a leading national center for structural heart disease interventions and are in the process of developing an innovative cardiac imaging service throughout the Midland region. This includes advanced techniques such as Cardiac MRI, CT coronary angiography, structural heart disease CT, nuclear cardiology, stress echocardiography, and 3D TOE.

About Waikato Hospital - Hamilton
Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and serves as a leading tertiary teaching hospital for the Midland area, which encompasses the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. With approximately 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure center, we provide an extensive range of hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. As a major teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Auckland, University of Waikato, and Wintec, we offer a dynamic learning environment and access to various research opportunities. Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities located on the Waiora Waikato Hospital Campus and is supported by both road and air ambulance services.
