About the Role We are currently seeking a full-time team member for our Christchurch Commercial store. In this position, you will oversee the Commercial sales support and operations team, assisting the Proprietor with all administrative duties related to the Commercial department. Your responsibilities will include coordinating a variety of administrative tasks for the Commercial sales team, such as invoicing, purchase orders, branch transfers, and undelivered sales checks. You will also play a key role in managing and developing support employees through effective recruitment, training, performance management, and the setting of employee targets and key performance indicators. It will be essential to ensure that the department’s support and administration functions are completed accurately and efficiently by relevant employees, including service, claims, accounts, payroll, and reception tasks. Additionally, you will follow up on purchase orders with suppliers, coordinate delivery schedules with customer orders, and manage Direct Deliveries in accordance with departmental procedures. You will also be responsible for addressing customer complaints as directed by the Proprietor or Sales Manager, handling any ad hoc administrative tasks that arise, and assisting with stock take preparation and execution as needed. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience: - Previous experience in a busy administration role with a solid understanding of day-to-day administrative activities - Strong numerical skills and the ability to work with numbers effectively - Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, with good Excel skills - Proven ability to create and maintain effective relationships across all levels of the organization, gaining trust and respect from customers and suppliers - A strong sense of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information - A persistent work ethic and a high level of professionalism - Experience with commercial products such as cookware, refrigeration, laundry, heating, and audio-visual goods is desirable but not required - Strong advocacy for company policies, procedures, and legal compliance - A professional demeanor with a good sense of humor, approachability, and the ability to work well in a team - An autonomous work style with a 'can-do' attitude Benefits If you believe this is the right opportunity for you, we encourage you to apply online.
