About the Role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our team on a casual, on-call basis at Middlemore Hospital. Our facility, Counties Manukau District, is a large tertiary teaching hospital that manages a complex casemix, with over 10,000 discharges each month.
In this role, you will need to be flexible and available at short notice, as the position requires on-call availability from Monday to Friday. This is an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience in a dynamic hospital environment with a wide range of cases. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and enjoyable team atmosphere, where professional development is encouraged. Our Clinical Coding service operates under the National Clinical Coding Framework Progression Criteria.
About You
We are looking for a team player who brings a positive attitude and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will also possess:
- A HIMAA Certificate or ACE qualification
- Current ICD-10-AM 12th Edition coding experience
- Knowledge of casemix and diagnosis-related groupers
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
