About the Role We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our Cardiac Physiology service, which consists of a team of Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiac Physiology Technicians. This role involves working closely with physicians, administrative, and support staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for both inpatients and outpatients. Cardiac Physiologists will perform various cardiac tests within their defined scope of practice, necessitating extensive practical and technical expertise in understanding cardiac arrhythmias and their underlying mechanisms. A strong emphasis on patient care and maintaining professional standards is crucial. We value continuous education and training to ensure our staff acquire and maintain the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the required competency standards. About the Team/Service/Location Our Cardiology Service provides both Secondary and Tertiary services for Te Whatu Ora Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley (CC HV) and the central region of New Zealand. The Cardiology division encompasses: - Outpatient Clinics - Cardiac Diagnostic Testing - The Heart and Lung Unit - Cardiac Interventional Suite, offering procedures such as: - Coronary Angiograms - Left and Right Heart Studies - Coronary Interventions and CTO - Balloon Valvuloplasty and TAVI - PFO/ASD/LAA Closure - Pacing, ICD, and CRT Implants - Electrophysiology Studies, including 3D mapping and Ablation The Cardiac Physiology Service also includes: - Pacing/ICD follow-up service, including remote monitoring and travelling clinics - Cath Lab, Implants, TAVI, and Electrophysiology - Echocardiography - Exercise Tolerance Testing - Ambulatory Monitoring, including Holters, Events, and Blood Pressure - Training for Provisional Cardiac Physiologists, Cardiac Physiology Technicians, and other healthcare staff Our CC HV Cardiology Service is accredited as an SCT training facility. About You The ideal candidate for this position will value: - Building and developing high-performing teams - Promoting a positive and collaborative team environment - Continuous improvement in practices Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: - Demonstrated high level of clinical competence in a specialty area, specifically Electrophysiology and/or Devices - Ability to teach, lead, and mentor developing staff in their area of specialty Essential Professional Qualifications/Accreditations/Registrations: - Current Annual Practising Certificate - Membership of SCT - Bachelor of Science (BSc) - Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Technology (MTEX) or equivalent - Certificate of Cardiac Physiology (CCP) or equivalent Candidates should have achieved or be working towards: - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) EP Certificate - The Cardiac Electrophysiology Institute of Australasia (CEPIA) Graduate Diploma Working at Health New Zealand At Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, we believe in "the weaving of wellness."
