About the Role As a Spotter at the Wellington City Council Landfill, you will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of our operations. Your key responsibilities will include: - Vigilantly monitoring customers at the transfer station to identify any potential attempts to enter the waste pit. - Promptly sounding an alarm and communicating with the loader driver via radio in the event of any suspicious behavior. - Reporting all observed attempts to enter the waste pit to transfer station staff and documenting these incidents in the daily log sheet at the end of each shift. - Reporting any additional health and safety incidents to transfer station staff for internal safety reporting. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: - A valid driver's license. - Access to a vehicle or reliable transportation, as public transport, pedestrian, or cycle access to our site is unavailable. - Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety. - Excellent communication skills, particularly in radio communication. - The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
