About the Role
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Radio Technician Trainee within our ITS team in Dunedin, available on a casual basis. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual who is eager to pursue a career in radio-based telecommunications. We will provide comprehensive on-the-job training to help you develop your skills further.
In this role, you will experience a variety of engaging tasks, including maintaining and installing our internal and external voice and data radio networks, providing technical support, and assisting with the installation of radio and data equipment in facilities and mobile plants. You will also have the chance to contribute to other departments through technical and electrical work, as well as implementing bespoke monitoring networks in some of New Zealand's most beautiful locations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we ideally seek candidates who possess the following:
- Experience in the electronics and land mobile radio industry is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with various computer applications.
- A current full Class 1 driver's license.
- Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away from home, as well as participate in a rotating on-call roster if necessary.
