About the Role We are excited to announce an opportunity for an Environmental Technician to join our team at Green Island. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out monitoring and related tasks in accordance with the Site Environmental Monitoring Plan and Consent Conditions. A key focus of this position will be on odour control and monitoring. Key responsibilities will include: - Conducting field sampling and testing as per the Site Environmental Monitoring Plan and Consent conditions. - Preparing samples for dispatch to external analytical laboratories. - Liaising and coordinating with external laboratories. - Assessing test results and making recommendations to ensure compliance with consent conditions. - Accurately entering results data into the site database in a timely manner. - Providing efficient and precise analytical test results. - Undertaking waste sampling and testing on incoming waste loads. - Calibrating and maintaining laboratory and field-testing equipment in line with the Equipment Calibration Program. - Preparing reports on environmental monitoring data for both internal and external use. - Updating work procedures as necessary. - Actively supporting Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements in all site activities. - Undertaking additional projects as directed by the Manager. Requirements To succeed in this role, you will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong planning, organization, and time management abilities. Additionally, you will need to: - Hold a valid and current full driver's license. - Have strong IT skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite. - Maintain a satisfactory level of fitness to access field monitoring points and be willing to work outdoors in varying conditions. - Safely operate a 4WD vehicle under site conditions. - Have tertiary qualifications in Applied Sciences or a related science discipline, which are highly desirable.
