About the Role We are currently seeking a Field Technician (Drillers Off-Sider) for an entry-level position at our Macraes goldmine. This role is physically demanding and involves repetitive lifting of sample trays, which can weigh up to 10 kilograms each. Safety is our top priority, and adherence to operating procedures is essential while on site. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both day and night shifts, regardless of weather conditions. Field technicians are active in all environments—rain, hail, or shine—and should be prepared to get their hands dirty. This position does not require formal qualifications but does require a reliable and proactive attitude. The roster pattern consists of 7 days on followed by 7 days off, then 7 nights on and 7 nights off. Working hours are from 6:40 am/pm to 7:00 pm/am. We provide a company bus to transport employees to and from work in Dunedin, departing at 5:15 am/pm and returning around 8:15 pm/am. Candidates should be prepared for long workdays and possess the flexibility in their home life to accommodate this schedule. Requirements - Strong health and safety awareness, ideally with prior experience in an industrial or large-scale environment - Previous laboring or manual handling experience is preferred - Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test - A full New Zealand driver’s license is required; confidence in driving a manual vehicle is preferred - Physical fitness to consistently lift sample trays weighing approximately 5-10 kilograms, with the potential for up to 25 kilograms - Comfort in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold - Strong communication skills, both face-to-face and via radio, to work effectively in a team environment If you believe you have the skills and stamina to thrive in this role, we would love to hear from you.
